The research presented on this website was conducted by the Global Obesity Centre (GLOBE). GLOBE is a research group based in the Institute for Health Transformation at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia.
GLOBE is a designated World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention, with strong links to governments, other research groups and a diverse range of collaborators nationally and internationally.
With a focus on policies for healthy food environments, the GLOBE team aims to improve the policy response to unhealthy diets, and understand how the development and implementation of policies to create healthier food environments can be enhanced.
We have a strong commitment to ensuring that our research findings are communicated widely and are used to inform policy and practice.
This research forms part of INFORMAS (International Network for Food and Obesity/NCDs Research, Monitoring and Action Support), a global network of public-interest organisations and researchers that seek to monitor and benchmark public and private sector actions to create healthy food environments and reduce obesity and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) globally.
