About us
The research presented on this website was conducted by the Global Centre for Preventive Health and Nutrition (GLOBE). GLOBE is a designated World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention, based in the Institute for Health Transformation at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia.
The research is led by Gary Sacks, Professor of Public Health Policy and Co-Director of GLOBE.
With a focus on policies for healthy food environments, the GLOBE team aims to improve the policy response to unhealthy diets, and understand how the development and implementation of policies to create healthier food environments can be enhanced.
We have a strong commitment to ensuring that our research findings are communicated widely and are used to inform policy and practice.
This research forms part of INFORMAS (International Network for Food and Obesity/NCDs Research, Monitoring and Action Support), a global network of public-interest organisations and researchers that seek to monitor and benchmark public and private sector actions to create healthy food environments and reduce obesity and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) globally.
